Yes — everything on Golden Yards is 100% free for homeowners. Our guides, calculators, gallery, and contractor matching service cost nothing to use. We never charge homeowners for any of our services.
How does the contractor matching ("Find a Pro") work?
When you submit a project request through our Find a Pro form, we review your details and match you with 2–3 pre-vetted, licensed contractors in your area who specialize in your project type. They'll reach out to provide free quotes. There's no obligation, no pressure, and your information stays private.
How do you vet contractors?
We check every contractor for active California state licensing (CSLB), general liability insurance, online reviews (Google, Yelp, BBB), and project portfolio. We only work with contractors who meet our standards for professionalism and quality.
Are the cost estimates on your calculators accurate?
Our calculators are based on current California market rates, updated regularly using real contractor pricing data. They're designed to give you a realistic ballpark — but actual costs can vary based on your specific site conditions, material choices, and local factors. We recommend using them as a starting point before getting formal quotes.
Do you write your own guides or use AI?
Our guides are editorially produced with a combination of expert research, contractor interviews, and industry data. We prioritize accuracy, depth, and practical value. Every guide is reviewed for quality before publication.
