Structure

Geogrid

Geogrid is often used behind retaining walls and under heavy hardscape areas when soil, slope, wall height, or surcharge loads require extra reinforcement.

Definition

Geogrid is a synthetic reinforcement mesh used in soil and retaining-wall systems to improve stability and distribute load.

Why it matters

If a wall or driveway bid omits geogrid where it is needed, the price may look lower but the structure may move or fail. Ask whether engineering, geogrid depth, drainage rock, and backfill are included.
